Simple way to elongate your spine ESPECIALLY if you find yourself gettin’ a little too hunchy too often!

So I have Scoliosis which believe it or not soooo many peeps have.

Essentially scoliosis is a lateral (side ) curve of the spine which can happen either in the upper or lower part of the back.

As a result of the spine pushed either further left or right and deviating from “atypical” S shaped spines, there are lots of issues that can arise in people’s backs and bodies.

For me with slight scoliosis in my lower back I have always had a propensity for back spasms and extremely tight soft tissue (the connective tissue) that wraps around the muscles like bundles of cling film. So I always feel called to elongate and decompress my back and one way I do this easily is via a pull up bar from good old Argos (if you UK based) .

FYI you don’t NEED a pull up bar you can easily do this too by reaching for the top of a door and going for a light hang off that 🙂

You don’t need to go for any fancy tricks on it either, well you can if you feel the pull , but just simply hanging your body weight for a few seconds off a bar or door ledge can be extremely satisfying and give the feeling of elongation into your vertebral column.

I would recommend if you aren’t use to hanging and carrying your body weight to first things first experiment with a small stool underneath your feet to give that sense of support and confidence. Also it’s a good idea to work with someone who can spot (basically keep an eye) out on you!

Please tread carefully and feel free to email me if you got any questions on this.

It’s a superb way to elongate the spinal and back muscles, not just for my scoliosis peeps but also if you have been crouched over a desk for way too many hours. I am looking at you ‘running your own business’ peeps

So what you thinking ? Would you give this a go??!

Let me know 🙂 Nicola
